Bachelor of Science in Dialysis Technology

Duration Level Type
 3 Years Graduation Degree

B.Sc. Dialysis is a 3-year undergraduate program, the minimum eligibility for which is a qualification of 10+2 preferably from science stream . The course is divided into six semesters of six months each.

B.Sc. Dialysis has been designed to offer eligible candidates a specialization in a wide range of application and technologies involved in the process of dialysis. The course focuses on the treatment of various diseases related to kidney and perform dialysis on patients suffering from kidney failure and require treatment for removing excess waste and fluids from their blood.

During the course, candidates are educated about various aspects and equipment used in dialysis treatment and are trained to perform various roles from equipment repair and maintenance to water treatment monitoring, to dialyzer reprocessing, vascular access monitoring as well as direct patient care. The students get an in-depth knowledge about the basic anatomy and physiology, dialysis prescription interpretation, safety and sanitation, emergency interventions, and professional standards and ethics.

One of the major objectives of B.Sc. Dialysis course is to produce technicians who are fully capable of contributing to the society by making a huge difference between the life and death of a person suffering from renal failure, assisting them with every physical or mental concern they might have before, during or after the procedure and also for pursuing higher degree courses in the field.

Candidates who are interested in learning more about the discipline and go for research and development (R&D) can also pursue further higher degree studies like, M. Sc., M. Phil., Ph. D., etc.

After successful completion of the course, one can get a job in various government and private hospitals, private clinics, healthcare setups, research centers, educational institutes, etc.
